These photos make up a posthumous photographic inventory of some of the works made by the artist Alex Vallauri (1949-1987).
Alex Vallauri, born in Eritrea, made home in Brazil. Despite his early passing, he was one of the prominent names amongst the Geração de '80 and is known as the pioneer in the use of graffiti in Brasil.
Following Vallauri’s death, I was invited to photograph installation artworks he had made in his friend’s homes and commercial establishments. Many of these places have been torn down, and with them the works Vallauri had created upon them. In a way, this only strengthens graffiti as a form of artistic expression, dynamic and temporary.
